The Diocese of Mid-America serves the Mid & Western United States.
It's geographical area extends from the middle of Tennessee to California and from Texas
to the Canadian border. In 1991, Bishop Grote moved to Texas and began the Special Jurisdiction of North America.

This was a Missionary Diocese devoted to bringing the witness of the Reformed Episcopal Church to the Western & Southwest states. In 1996, the Special Jurisdiction merged with the oldest Diocese in the Reformed Episcopal Church (Synod of Chicago) and formed the Diocese of Mid-America. Since its beginnings, the Diocese has grown from two parishes to over forty.
