Bishop Sutton, the Diocesan Staff, and Church of the Holy Communion Pro-Cathedral are once again excited to welcome everyone to the Dallas area for the 111th Synod of the Diocese of Mid-America. Highlights of this year's Synod will include the installation service of the Diocesan Bishop Ordinary, the Commencement service for Cranmer Theological House, a Women's Day program, and a presentation on the Veritas program.
In addition, we are honored to have with us a special guest - The Rev. Canon Dan Alger. Canon Alger is the Canon for Church Planting for both the Anglican Diocese of the South and the Anglican Church in North America. He is instrumental in the leadership, development, and tools provided by Always Forward and he is the co-host of the Always Forward podcast. Canon Alger will be leading us in a special teaching time on Thursday afternoon and will be discussing approaches and issues that church plants and missions often face.
For those arriving early enough on Wednesday (February 21st), the parish invites you to join them for their Lenten observance of the Stations of the Cross at 5:30pm followed by a Soup Supper, and a Lenten Speaker (at 6:30pm) who will speak on "The Comfortable Words of the Gospel".
We endeavor to keep expenses as low as we can but do need to ensure that we meet all the costs that are incurred with hosting a Synod. To that end, the following will be the price structure for the 111th Synod.
FULL SYNOD REGISTRATION:
$115 (Includes Registration Charge plus 2 Lunches & 1 Dinner)
WOMEN'S DAY LUNCH/PROGRAM:
$25 (or $10 for females who are also registering for the full Synod)
$45 (cost for those ONLY attending the Thursday Dinner and not attending Synod)
The Women of the Church will be joining together for a special time of fellowship and discussion with Mrs. Susan Sutton during the scheduled lunch on Friday. After eating some wonderful BBQ, the women will meet in the sanctuary at the parish.
Register for Synod
Those attending just the Women's Day lunch & program will be charged $25 to cover lunch and the Women's Day cost. Those who are registering for Synod already have their lunch included and will only be charged $10 for the Women's Day cost.
Any proceeds above and beyond the costs of Women's Day will be designated to the 2018 Women's Day Project Offering in support of REC100.
You can register for Women's Day through the Registration System for Synod.
Synod Hotel - Embassy Suites
The Synod Planning Committee has contracted with the Embassy Suites in the Galleria area. The hotel will be about 10 minutes from the parish. Please note that this is NOT the same Embassy Suites that we used for General Council in June 2017. This Embassy Suites will NOT provide any transportation shuttles to/from the airport.
NOTE: If you are flying to Synod, you will need a car rental.
As always, every Embassy Suites offers a two-room suite, a complimentary hot breakfast, and a complimentary evening manager's happy hour.
The Contracted rate is $139/nt plus taxes. To ensure this rate, you must include the Group Reservation Code of "Diocese of Mid-America". You can call the hotel directly to make your reservation or you may use the link below which will automatically provide the discounted rate. The discounted rate is available from a Wednesday check-in through to a Saturday morning check-out.
IT IS YOUR INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE HOTEL RESERVATIONS
